2018 GUEST SPEAKERS

Andy Grant

Ex-Marine and fastest amputee 10k runner in the world will be talking about his life in the Marines, his determination and motivation to keep pushing himself to be the best he can be and the story behind the title of his autobiography ‘You’ll Never Walk’ – which he will be signing copies of at the Expo. Andy is also taking part in the marathon which will be his first one!

Ian Jones

Ian likes a challenge and last year qualified for the World’s Toughest Mudder in Las Vegas, where he came in the top 100 by running 76 miles (only 60 miles after penalties) in 24 hours. Ian will be talking about what drives him to continue pushing himself with 4am starts and gruelling work-outs that most of us would run a mile from!

Jemma Lewis

Jemma is otherwise known as @thisgirlcanrunfar on Instagram and has built up a running community of over 17,000 who have followed her journey after having her children to running Ultra Marathons.  Jemma will be talking about surviving mum-life one run at a time.

Martha Phillips

Martha has just become one of Asics Frontrunners and is well-known for her colourful choice of running tights. She is a big advocate of Parkruns and you will find her taking part at various events each Saturday.  Her challenges this year not only include the Rock n Roll Liverpool Marathon but Manchester and London marathon; plus the ultra Race to the King.

Matt Rees

Matt only started running in 2015 to overcome anxiety and finished the London Marathon in 2 hours 29 mins in 2016 … he then became involved in one of last year’s defining moment of the London Marathon as he stopped his race 300 metres from the finish line to help a distressed runner, and total stranger, David Wyeth, cross the line. Matt will be talking about why he started running and how it became one of this passions.

Running Reaper – Andrew Cohen-Wray

Andrew Cohen-Wray has been in the thick of the elite athletics community for years. He has been competing for over 25 years, from 8 marathons to representing Great Britain at the World & British Masters Championships and now works with athletes to develop new technical skills and the secrets behind mental preparation.
