In September 2016, Amy weighed 432 lbs and made the huge decision to undertake Bariatric surgery and take back control of her life! Amy has since lost an incredible 270lbs through a complete change of attitude to food, nutrition and exercise. Her honest account of her progress has been a journey many people have followed her on and we are absolutely delighted to announce Amy will be at the RunFit Expo next May to talk to us about her story so far.

Ex-Marine and fastest amputee 10k runner in the world will be talking about his life in the Marines, his determination and motivation to keep pushing himself to be the best he can be and the story behind the title of his autobiography ‘You’ll Never Walk’ – which he will be signing copies of at the Expo.

Esther Newman – Editor of Women’s Running magazine

Editor of Women’s Running, Esther celebrates all women who run, and passionately believes that running has the power to achieve much greater things than just physical fitness, from mental health awareness to wider social change. Having run regularly since the age of 11, she has only recently decided to call herself a runner rather than a “plodder”, in an effort to persuade every woman who runs to take on the same label. With a handful of 10Ks and half marathons under her belt, this year she will be attempting her first marathon.

Coming first in the 20 – 24 age category at the Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote last month would make you think Jemima Cooper had been take part in triathalons for years but up until 2.5 years ago she couldn’t swim, didn’t own a bike and was a professional ballerina.  So join us at the RunFit Expo 23rd May 2020 to chat to Jemima and find out how she has been literally making waves on the triathlon circuit and is now on the cusp of making it as a pro triathlete.

Jordan Foster – @projectmarathongirl

12 months ago, Jordan broke the sub 3 hour for a marathon with a time of 2.58.37 and in October, Jordan completed the 250km Ultra X ultra marathon across the Arbia desert, 5 days of scorching heat, energy-sapping sand dunes and extreme elevation… and was not only the first female across the line but came 8th overall!!! Meet Jordan at the RunFit Expo to find out what Jordan’s future plans are and what her next challenge will be!

Ultra runner and super-mum of 5, Kelly will be talking about how she is juggling her post-pregnancy fitness and training for her first big race since the birth of her youngest in December around family life, controlling Type 1 diabetes and being Chief cheerleader and Support crew for Matt Rees @thewelshrunner.

For social media followers, most of you will recognise Matt as the person who runs mind-blowing times in his white and green Swansea Harrier vest most weekends. And most of you will know Matt for helping David Wyth cross the finish line at the London Marathon in 2017. Matt will be talking aobut his strict training plans, nutrition, goals for the future and his dream goal of a 2:25 hour PB marathon.

‘Pick Up the Pace’
Paul is a seasoned runner but his passion is all about pacing. Paul loves nothing better than helping other runners achieve their PB goal and you will now find him pacing many of the major races across the UK, including the London marathon.  Paul will once again be pacing the Rock n Roll Liverpool Marathon May 2020 so make sure you join him on the Demo Stage at the RunFit Expo at 11am on Saturday 23rd May 2020 to find out how to pace your race the following day.

Sports Injury Fix

Sports Injury Fix will be giving talks throughout the weekend on how to stay injury free but for those of you with niggles or would like a Sports Massage, then your can book yourself a session in the Sports Injury Treatment Room.

You’ve got the kit, have a coach and train hard?  This is what is missing… YOUR NUTRITION! Claire Fudge, the person behind ‘The 4th Discipline‘, is a Clinical Dietitian and Sports Performance Nutritionist.  Nutrition is the 4th discipline and as a competitive endurance triathlete herself, she is passionate about how food and nutrition affects performance, metabolism, and body composition.
