We’ve been monitoring the COV-19 situation closely and the Ironman Group has been working behind the scenes putting options in place with Liverpool Council, and relevant agencies/authorities involved in organising a large scale event and a decision has been made to move the Rock n Roll Race weekend scheduled for 22-24 May 2020 to 23-25 October 2020.
This is the official statement from the Ironman Group:
In alignment with the Liverpool City Council and based on recent direction and recommendations from the British Government in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Rock ‘n’ Roll Liverpool Marathon & ½ Marathon, originally scheduled for the weekend of May 23-24, 2020 has been postponed to the weekend of October 24-25, 2020 due to force majeure. In what has been a continually evolving and challenging time globally, we recognize that the postponement due to the above-mentioned, unforeseen events may come as a disappointment. While we are prevented from holding the event during the original May event date, we are looking forward to providing athletes with an exceptional event experience in the future.
We are all committed to making this the best race weekend Liverpool has ever seen and as such the RunFit Expo will now take place Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th October of the Rock n Roll Race weekend.
